I notice one thing everyday when I travel through the city - while waiting at the traffic lights even for a couple of minutes, one can visibly notice the CO2 emissions from fellow vehicle users. Especially during the summer time. I wonder why can't the other conventional car owners see what I see? It's an eye opener about the emissions we leave behind in the atmosphere and that alone is reason enough for me to make a decision to own an EV.

When me and my better half decided to get a car, we were convinced that an EV is what we wanted. Obviously, a lot of family and friends tried to dissuade us from our decision, because rightfully their primary concern was the lack of charging infrastructure in our country. I don’t blame them. But since our car travel is not more than 500-600km a month, owning an EV was a transition we really wanted to undergo.

It might sound cliche but we both were really keen on owning an environmentally friendly asset and the Tata Nexon fit perfectly in our budget too! Also the government-aided benefits further helped in strengthening our choice to go for an EV. What I have really loved so far is the silent nature of the car and it’s zero-smoke efficiency. Due to the lockdown my travel has been further limited and I have been able to enjoy only about 2100km so far in the Nexon. We are converted and committed to the EV lifestyle and I dream to own a Tesla someday. My next two-wheeler purchase will be an EV too.

I really wish India gets a robust and widespread charging infrastructure soon so that we can enjoy our EVs minus the range anxiety!
